EASYSCAN – an effective and economical solution for your web surface defects

EASYSCAN

EASYSCAN is a very compact and economical system for the inspection of webs. It uses high resolution image processing colour cameras with a scanning speed of 7000 lines per second. Each camera checks the web with 640 colour detection sensor points.

The EASYSCAN can detect and indicate defects in the web like variations in colour or contaminations. The EASYSCAN triggers either an alarm or a labelling machine. The scanning area can be divided up into 8 sectors per camera for location of the defect. The positioning of these 8 sectors and the size are adjustable. The colour camera observes the web through a window on the top side of the housing. The illumination, the evaluation unit and the power supply are integrated in the housing. On the side of the housing there are rotary switches mounted to set the sensitivity and the tolerance values for four different products. An external monitor displays the live picture of the camera, the defects by colour, the position and the settings, and can be installed in a distance of up to 8 m from the system.

Settings for four products can be stored. Each camera delivers a defect protocol by a serial RS232 signal. The standard module width is for 600 mm inspection. Several modules can be added. The system does not require a fan, has no mechanical memory drives and does not work with Windows systems. Therefore, it is very robust. It is possible to operate the system after one hour of instruction only. The housing of the EASYSCAN is mounted on feet which can be adjusted in height, so it can easily be adapted to the web height. For power supply only one phase 220 V or 110 V are necessary.
